The winners of the 2008 Glove Design Competition have been announced.Now in its 35th year, the annual competition is run in conjunction with the Worshipful Company of Glovers and it has continued in its tradition of finding the very best in practical and original glove design.Since 1975, the judges have encouraged design students to think in an original way but also take into consideration the commercial potential of their efforts as well as ease of manufacture.In the past, the role of the Worshipful Company of Glovers as one of the oldest established livery companies was to control and regulate all aspects of their trade in the City of London.The institution continues to hold its links with their origins in high regard and is presently pro-active in expanding their activities to support charities and education in the community.Chloe Wragg of Loughborough University won the category one prize for the design for a character in a theatre or musical production. Other categories included a design for sportswear, autumn fashion wear and most commercial design.
