Embroidered Fleeces News Archive

Right Fabric For Embroidered Fleeces, However, poorly done embroidery can spoil the show...

Thu, 1 Jul 2010 16:52

Embroidered fleeces are fashionable. Embroidered fleece jackets provide protection from cold and at the same time are creative expressions of style. To a large extent quality of embroidery depends upon fleece fabric. There are many types of fleece fabric-polyester fleece, microfleece, drop-needle fleece, sherpa fleece and berber fleece. Pile of polyester fleece has a medium thickness, which is due to the manufacturing technique used. Microfleece fabric, as the name suggests, is cut with a low pile. Drop-needle fleece is made using a special knitting technique. Sherpa fleece is heavily tufted as surface pile is curled during manufacturing, giving it a feel of lamb’s wool. Berber fleece uses coloured fibres to give it a curled surface. While all types of fleeces can be embroidered, polyester fleece and microfleece fabrics are most suitable for this purpose. Sherpa, drop-needle and berber fabrics are most unsuitable for embroidered fleece.
