New Tennessee-based clothing firm, Bamboo U has exploited a gap in the market for eco-friendly clothing aimed at college-age women.The college age-group is considered to be an environmentally conscious section of the demographic and Bamboo U has put together a range of eco-chic, affordable clothing made from bamboo.Many eco-conscious manufacturers are turning to the material more and more as the fabric of the future because it needs little else but rain water to grow, negating the need for pesticides.Bamboo is also 100 per cent biodegradable, fast growing and self-regenerating, and the fibres make the end product durable, breathable and even provides natural UV protection.Bamboo U shirts are 70 per cent bamboo and 30 per cent organic cotton and carry designs printed using water-based inks.
