Consilium clothing - experts in workwear clothing.Fire-fighters operating in Essex will soon enjoy the benefits of a new range of workwear which is to be introduced across the county. The uniform, which will be launched at some point this month, includes a new style of trousers alongside a blue or white shirt with a service badge attached. It will replace the burgundy-coloured workwear which has been worn by Essex fire crews for the past seven years. Adam Eckley, assistant chief fire officer, told the Maldon & Burnham Standard that the new uniform design will present a "more professional image of the service" while also being "respectful of staff needs"."To ensure the new uniform remains fit for purpose while being worn under our existing fire-fighting equipment and before being approved for roll-out across the county, we put it through a series of realistic and simulated tests," Mr Eckley explained."This evaluation followed a comprehensive countywide consultation exercise which recorded that an overwhelming majority of staff supported the very positive direction being proposed."Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service recently launched a drive to encourage more people to become retained fire-fighters to provide vital cover for core teams.Find out more about our workwear.
