Love it or loathe it every Corporate Wear trade Fair and many established Hosiery Companies are now talking about the shift from traditional corporate wear to a new trendier, more relaxed look. With so many people searching for new jobs these days and many coming from the world of student wear what is appropriate when you are told this company advocates a ‘Business casual approach,’ to their dress code policy? If you are male this is daunting but if you are female its enough to bring you out in a cold sweat especially when you are so eager to make a good first impression. For men you can ditch the tie but denim in any shape or form is still largely taboo. Play it safe to begin with and wear khaki pants, a button down shirt wearing an undershirt underneath and then complete the look with a leather belt and well polished shoes. The female has to be more careful as there are so many different looks on the market. Basically try to stick to fairly neutral colours and neat semi-formal clothes. Too-tight, revealing items are still inappropriate as are slouchy track-suits. Go for a neat look without being frumpy.
