Many clothes companies pay out huge sums of money every year to get well known celebrities to wear promotional clothing advertising their brand name. The question many of them are now asking is are they getting a good return for their investment? There are many factors to consider before seeking out a well known personality to be the face of your company. Who is the right person to consider? The public change their minds very often and the media are always looking to unearth new scandals about every celebrity that could damage their reputation. Is the person you have in mind compatible with the product or service you want to market? Is the celebrity you have in mind already wearing other promotional clothing that may be in conflict with the brand you want to promote? Will this person be able to credibly convince the public that they love and regularly use your product?A new ploy company’s are adopting is to ask up and coming celebrities to wear their promotional clothing rather than an established stars. They feel the public are more likely to believe that this person actually likes their brand rather than simply endorsing it for the money.

It has been established that giving something for nothing is now thought to be the best method of promoting brand awareness for your products or services. Most companies now endorse the theory that getting their brand name out there through free promotional items will increase their profile and create a buzz about their products. For the large well known brands such as Adidas and Nike, it is their policy to get high profile sports stars to wear their products during largely televised sports games. Such an endorsement by a celebrity gives a massive boost to their company’s image and sales.Tiger Woods has recently been the subject of much media publicity due to his recent highly publicised car accident and the ensuing revelations about the state of his marriage. Prior to this negative publicity Tiger Woods maintained a low key wholesome image which he further endorsed by getting married and starting a family. He has now reportedly lost lucrative sponsorship deals with General Motors, Accenture Plc, AT&T and Gillette. Although many popular celebrities have lost sponsorship due to their bad behaviour it always seems to only be a matter of time before their new found notoriety finds them new sponsors.

The Copenhagen Conference on Climate Change once again brought the state of our planet to our attention. Hardly a day goes by now in the media without us witnessing scenes of the effects that Global warming is having on people and wildlife.  More and more consumers will now want reassurances that the company’s they are dealing with are environmentally aware and are all doing their bit to help reduce green house gas emissions. Marketing and promoting your business in this way will endear the public to you and will lead them to believe that there is a conscientious person at the head of your company. Every business should now be thinking about making subtle changes that will help promote a greener image. This could include switching to reusable, biodegradable and recycled promotional items, sourcing materials that are not exploiting underdeveloped countries and using products that are not manufactured using harmful materials.Logo ID have recently increased their stock of Organic T-Shirts, Polo-Shirts, Sweatshirts and Bags all of which can be embroidered or printed on with your preferred green message. These items have been produced without using harmful pesticides that previously caused illness and death to cotton pickers in underdeveloped countries.
